Born from carefully selected European bloodlines, Cleo became the first Scottish Terrier in our kennel and laid the foundation for everything that followed. She introduced us not only to the beauty of the breed but also to the responsibility of preserving the true Scottish Terrier according to the FCI breed standard.

Every successful breeding program has a beginning. For Tonyawire Kennel, that beginning was Mandowal Call for Tonyawire, affectionately known as Cleo.

Cleo is the daughter of Multi Champion Heath Hill Samurai and Champion Mandowal Anastasia, combining renowned British, German and Central European bloodlines. Her pedigree includes internationally respected Scottish Terrier kennels such as Scarista, Juscot, Millingford, De Magic Illusion, and Mandowal, bloodlines recognized for producing dogs with excellent breed type, sound construction, harsh coats and confident temperament.

From the very beginning, Cleo impressed us with her balanced structure, typical Scottish Terrier expression and wonderful character. She became much more than our first Scottish Terrier—she became the inspiration behind our breeding philosophy.

The experience gained with Cleo allowed us to build strong relationships with some of Europe’s most respected breeders, including Ute and Andreas Luig (Canisequus, Germany), whose bloodlines later became an important part of our breeding program.

Although generations have followed, Cleo remains the cornerstone of our Scottish Terrier family. Many of the qualities we value today—correct breed type, strong temperament, functional movement and excellent coat quality—can be traced back to the standards she helped establish within our kennel.
