Go for it of Tonyawire („Ruby”) – The First Homebred Scottish Terrier of Tonyawire Kennel

Every breeding program reaches a milestone that defines its future. For Tonyawire Kennel, that milestone was Go for it of Tonyawire, affectionately known as Ruby.

Ruby is the first Scottish Terrier born in our kennel, marking the beginning of our own breeding line after years of studying the breed, selecting bloodlines, and learning from respected European breeders.

She was bred from a carefully planned combination between our foundation female Mandowal Call for Tonyawire (Cleo) and the outstanding Canadian-bred sire Stalwart’s Game of Thrones, owned by Canisequus (Germany).

This pedigree united two highly respected Scottish Terrier families. Through her sire, Ruby carries internationally recognized North American bloodlines including Stalwart, Lucia’s Dream, Morningstar, MacBrechin, and Whiskybae, kennels that have produced numerous champions and have had a significant influence on the breed worldwide. On her maternal side, she continues the established European bloodlines introduced through Mandowal Call for Tonyawire, combining proven structure, temperament, and breed type.

Ruby possesses the classic Scottish Terrier characteristics we strive to preserve: a strong and compact body, harsh weather-resistant coat, balanced movement, and the confident, intelligent expression that defines the breed.

More importantly, Ruby became the bridge between the imported foundation bloodlines and the future generations born under the Tonyawire prefix. She represents the moment when our kennel evolved from admiring exceptional Scottish Terriers to breeding them according to a clear and long-term vision.

Several of our younger Scottish Terriers descend from Ruby, making her one of the most influential females in our breeding program. Her legacy continues through the next generations, carrying forward the qualities that remain at the heart of our breeding philosophy: health, temperament, correct breed type, and genetic diversity.

At Tonyawire Kennel, every litter is planned with the same care and responsibility that produced Ruby—the first homebred Scottish Terrier to proudly carry our kennel name.
