Not every dog enters a family as part of a breeding plan. Some arrive simply to bring happiness—and that was exactly the story of Chelines Nestea.

Nestea joined our family as a very special gift for our daughter. From the very first day, she became much more than a puppy. Her cheerful personality, intelligence, and endless curiosity quickly made her the favourite companion of our daughter, a bond that remains just as strong today.

Our sincere thanks go to the late Alberto Velasco and the renowned CHELINES Kennel for trusting us with such a wonderful Wirehaired Kaninchen Dachshund.

Living with Nestea allowed us to discover the unique qualities of the breed on a daily basis. Despite her small size, she displayed the courage, confidence, and lively temperament for which the Kaninchen Wirehaired Dachshund is admired throughout the world. She was always eager to explore, learn, and be part of every family activity.

At that time, we had no plans to become Wirehaired Dachshund breeders. Nestea was simply a beloved family member. However, she sparked a deep appreciation for the breed and inspired us to learn more about its history, temperament, and bloodlines.

Looking back, it is easy to see that Nestea played an important role in shaping the future of Tonyawire Kennel. She was one of the dogs that inspired our passion for the Kaninchen Wirehaired Dachshund, a passion that eventually developed into our dedicated breeding program.

Although he never became part of our breeding program, he place in our family will always be special. Some dogs leave a legacy through their offspring; others leave it through the memories they create. Nestea belongs to the second category.
